In a field of flowers After a Summer rain It’s a way for me to be with you And wash this dusty cage I can hear your laughter I still can feel the rage Inside my every thought of you Being swept away It’s a way for me It’s a way for me To love you Let me rest my head on you Lets have a moment of silence So you can feed my hungry soul With my heart I’ll give to you A couple of ghosts in my closet So you can feed my hungry soul Walking through the shadows I stumble on a grave It’s a way for me to share with you My struggles from the day If you could hear me father I wonder what you’d say? How can i be forgiven this When I’m the one who won’t forgive It’s a way for me It’s a way for me To love you Let me rest my head on you Lets have a moment of silence So you can feed my hungry soul With my heart I’ll give to you A couple of ghosts in my closet So you can feed my hungry soul
Staring at my phone Just thinking ‘bout you And I wonder if you ever Think of me too A Wiser man now But I’m still a fool Couldn’t settle for a life That was comfortable Many moons ago You packed your life up Moved to Boston Bet that shut your parents up Little rebel girls will not live in fear never lose, never win, they just disappear The past is buried in my mind Comes back to haunt me all the time I’ll crawl through hell To find my way to heaven The devil on my back Says I’m always going to be alone I believe in lies because I fear the truth There’s something about love I’m just not getting Like water through my hands Where it falls, only heaven knows I chase the dark because the light burns through I wallowed in the scars The lonely abuse Selfish demons always saying Love’s a noose The hangman’s waiting for me by the stairs Pull the lever, drop the door Watch me gasp for air I’m past the monsters in my head But not the guilt beneath my bed I’ll crawl through hell To find my way to heaven The devil on my back Says I’m always going to be alone I believe in lies because I fear the truth There’s something about love I’m just not getting Like water through my hands Where it falls, only heaven knows I chase the dark because the light burns through How does love turn into cancer? How does time turn pain to laughter? Nobody knows
You walk in with your bloodshot eyes Got a bottle in your hand and a grin on your face I know this is a homicide Got a knife in your pocket and a gun on your waist Say you’ll take my life You tried to stab me with a sharp knife Crossfire and I fell in a gunfight I am dying I lost myself out in the dark night Crossfire I’m trying to get my head right I am dying Your thick skin may be bulletproof Got a devil on your tongue And your heart in a cage Regret ever meeting you You’re strung out on a Coldhearted murderous rage Say you’ll take my life You tried to stab me with a sharp knife Crossfire and I fell in a gunfight I am dying I lost myself out in the dark night Crossfire I’m trying to get my head right I am dying
It's three a.m. in the morning; I wish I would’ve missed that call What I heard on the other end Wont let me sleep at all But I won't give you the pleasure Of seeing me down 'Cause you couldn't stand the thought of sticking around Maybe tomorrow I'll forgive, Just not today Sometimes I wonder If there's really a heaven A place where the old end and new begin I'm every bit as cold as you I'm every bit as cold as the day You had to go and cut me wide open Should I go visit your mother, Does she need a familiar face? You left me no directions To deal with this change But you made good on the promise, The promise you made You took all of my secrets To the grave Maybe tomorrow I'll forgive, Just not today Sometimes I wonder If there's really a heaven A place where the old end and new begin I'm every bit as cold as you I'm every bit as cold as the day You had to go and cut me wide open Where's that voice again, That sound I can't forget Where did it go?
Dear lover get a hold of me There’s something I need to say This poison has a hold of me And I forgot how to pray Dear lover get a hold of me Depression wasn’t a phase A car wreck right in front of me Time is frozen in place Every day I know I’m losing this fight with borrowed time Every day I know I’m out of my mind I’m planning my own misery I swear to God that this will be The last night I will ever take a drink This poison has a hold of me and The bottles always gonna be A place to drown in my own misery My Own Misery My Own Misery Dear lover grab a hold of me Im tired of running in place The things that I don’t wanna see Have left me stuck in a maze Dear lover grab a hold of me I think this might be the day The past is catching up with me I just need you to stay Everyday I know Ive got my back against the wall Every day I know I’m moments from a fall I’m planning my own misery I swear to God that this will be The last night I will ever take a drink This poison has a hold of me and The bottles always gonna be A place to drown in my own misery My Own Misery My Own Misery
My halo has failed Maybe you can shine your light The devil’s in trouble Been hanging out with Jesus Christ Maybe you can help me Try to break from my cell Cuz when I get to heaven End up right back in hell My halo has failed My halo has failed I just wanna get lost Wanna get lost with you tonight I just wanna wake up Wanna wake up with Angel eyes Deceiver, believe her Follow her into the dark Get higher, Inspired Let my ego fall apart Maybe you can help me Try to break from my cell Cuz when I get to heaven End up right back in hell Yesterday a sinner But today I am a saint I point the finger now Then I become what I hate I just wanna get lost Wanna get lost with you tonight I just wanna wake up Wanna wake up with Angel eyes Into the eye of a needle Digging my way through The darkest night of my soul
You’ve fallen for lies As another friendship dies Living with your back against the wall A clever disguise Hid that serpent’s cold eyes We never feel the bite utill we fall They’re not worth it and you know it Anger flowing through your veins Don’t deserve this. They are poison Friends becoming snakes Hey, hey, hey! You’re feeling up, you’re feeling down You’re mad as hell at the world right now Somedays its rains and you don’t know how To move on with your life but You got to get up and get on Let go and let god Hey, hey, hey! Don’t let this mad world keep you down Someday you’ll get a call I wasn’t felling well at all Your heart will bend and crack But never break You’ll feel all alone Floating into the unknown but Life was always gonna end this way But it’s worth it and you know it Pain flowing through your veins There’s a purpose for the hurt and There’s a purpose for the pain so Hey, hey, hey! You’re feeling up, you’re feeling down You’re mad as hell at the world right now Somedays its rains and you don’t know how To move on with your life but You got to get up and get on Let go and let god Hey, hey, hey! Don’t let this mad world keep you down
You wanna ride with me? You wanna dance with me? Stay out all night with me? You wanna let it loose? You got my heart pacing You got my handshaking You keep my mind racing you want to let it loose? We’re gonna dance, gonna dance Gonna dance I know We’re gonna dance to the beat Gonna lose our soul In a trance gonna dance We’ve got nothing to lose Surrender to the moment And remember to let it loose Be loving life with me Be getting high with me You said you die with me You wanna let it loose? We’re gonna dance, gonna dance Gonna dance I know We’re gonna dance to the beat Gonna lose our soul In a trance gonna dance We’ve got nothing to lose Surrender to the moment And remember to let it loose You wanna ride with me? Get fucking high with me? Stay out all night with me? You said you die with me We’re gonna dance, gonna dance Gonna dance I know We’re gonna dance to the beat Gonna lose our soul In a trance gonna dance We’ve got nothing to lose Surrender to the moment And remember to let it loose
I’ve built this throne From flesh and bone Then reap what I have sewn A love affair with my death Just passing time Just trying to find My purpose in this life But I just can’t catch my breath Into the Rising Sun It seems I have lost everyone Do I really need to be Do I really need to be Alone on my way To the Rising Sun The seeds that failed The thorns and nails In my dark heart prevailed A burden too hard to lift The sun began To burn my plans And leave me a broken man Oh God, my pain is a gift Into the Rising Sun It seems I have lost everyone Do I really need to be Do I really need to be Alone on my way To the Rising Sun I’m too scared to feel love The shame, the guilt, and the pride. I’m too scared to feel love The pain, the truth and the lies
Take the apple from your hand I bite down we’re fallen from grace Like Adam and Eve in the garden Frozen in place There’s no place I’d rather be There’s no face I’d rather see My love your eyes are dilated Reality’s fading It’s 12:12 on the dot It seems my heart has been caught Blowing smoke rings at the moon And collecting stars With you, with you Collecting stars with you Collecting stars With you, with you May we both live up to the love That we’re feeling right now Let heartbreak hotel remain vacant And burned to the ground If you feel the need to run Just remember we are one My love your eyes see right through me Love is our movie It’s 12:12 on the dot It seems my heart has been caught Blowing smoke rings at the moon And collecting stars With you, with you Collecting stars with you With you, with you Collecting stars with you

THE STORY BEHIND HUNGRY SOUL

Fifteen years separate Seven Circle Sunrise’s debut album, Beauty in Being Alone, and Hungry Soul.

Released in August 2011 and produced by Rick Beato, Beauty in Being Alone opened doors almost overnight. Its breakout single, “Dead Love Letter,” helped take the band across the country, including dates alongside bands such as Incubus. But behind the momentum, frontman Veno Xavier found himself struggling with the pressures that came with it.

Just eight months after the album’s release, the original lineup dissolved. The momentum faded, the band slowed down, and by 2015, Seven Circle Sunrise had come to a complete halt.

For years, Veno carried the feeling that something had been left unfinished.

Then, in 2022, he picked up an acoustic guitar and unexpectedly wrote a song called “Hungry Soul.” That song became the first step back.

Over the next several years, one song became another. Veno began building his own studio, learning to produce the record himself and slowly rediscovering the part of himself he thought he had left behind.

He describes those lost years as feeling like there was always “a devil on my back”: the guilt of never following up that first record, of walking away from a dream, and of knowing somewhere underneath the anxiety, depression and misery that he had not become the person he once believed he could be.

Hungry Soul is the story of finding the way back.

Not back to 2011. Not back to the person he used to be. But through his own dark night of the soul and toward something on the other side.

10 songs. A lot of darkness. A lot of hope.
